A major staged upgrade to an important and heavily used park in central East St Kilda. The design proposes a high contrast mix including a mounded irrigated lawn with a backdrop of non-irrigated native species set in a landscape of dry gravels. The park includes an all-natural playground designed by RWA. A playful landscape of fine sandstones and rough-hewn timber provides a welcome antidote to the conventions of mass-produced PVC play equipment. The park is very much enjoyed by the many young children and their parents who live locally.
